The textile factory Ainis by Gaetano Messina
An entrepreneur like many in the city of Messina in the nineteenth century, which aimed to improve more. He started at the Ringo, a village a few miles away, in the north bank of the city of Messina allocating a mill and a factory for the printing of cotton fabrics; this factory, and was further enlarged in 1855, built a huge factory.
In 1858 he added the mechanized weaving, using three machines under hp, with 5 boilers of the total power of 75 horses which fed well, 102 looms and all the dozens of other machines, necessary for the complete processing textile yarn, consuming 1200 tons of coal per year.
It worked in this plant each year, 500 bales of cotton yarn, weighing 3200 tons. Besides various drugs required for coloring and printing of yarns and weighs two tons and a half, producing 25 pieces of fabric rough, each 24 meters long. Mostly yarn fabric printed with these techniques work, amounting annually to 60000 pieces in different tissues.
